Wisconsin’s high point youth exhibitors will be honored at the Wisconsin International show, September 25.  Taking top honors for the second year in a row is Jordan Delong, Darien, WI.  Jordan is a sophomore at Clinton High School where he serves as reporter for his local FFA Chapter and is a member of the Poultry Judging team.  He breeds, raises, exhibits and markets Birchen Modern Game, White Plymouth Rock and Silver Laced Wyandotte Bantams, as well as Rhode Island Large Fowl.  Jordan is currently serving as vice-president of the Wisconsin Junior Poultry Association and participates in cross country, track, and Student Council at school.  He is the son of Charles and Stephanie DeLong.

          Reserve Champion is 15 year old Kaylyn Lund, daughter of Terry and Penny Lund, Brooklyn, WI .  Kaylyn has been raising bantams, large fowl, ducks and geese for 7 years.  Her birds frequented champion row in both open and youth competition at six Midwestern shows last year.  Kaylyn has turned her hobby into a small business by creating her own website.  She is now shipping eggs to satisfied customers nationally. Her other interests are showing swine and horses, and taking lots of pictures of her birds. Other Wisconsin youth receiving honorable mention are: Parker Lund, First Runner-up; Brandon Thurs, Second Runner-up. We topped our classes with nine (9) of our birds at Stoughton Junior Fair. Along with those we had MANY blues. We also had a few reds, whites, and even pinks with our extremley young birds. Those birds will do well at our upcoming shows in the summer and fall. Below is a photo of all my Stoughton Fair Winnings from the 2008 year.
